Poul Jorgensen Documentary
Photo Poul Jorgensen was arguably the best Fly Tyer in the world. I began filming and directing a documentary about his life and work in 2000, with Paul serving as the Executive Producer.
Poul was an internationally recognized Fly Tyer, Author, and Photographer. He authored eight books on fly tying, produced numerous videos on the subject, and was a member of The Fly Fishing Hall of Fame. Poul was born in Odense, Denmark and lived in the United States for fifty years, residing in New York's Catskill Mountains where he owned and operated Poul Jorgensen’s Artistic Fishing Flies and Fly Tying Video Communications.
I met Poul when I became interested in fly fishing as a hobby and began fishing in Roscoe, New York, near great fisher waters and Poul's home. Poul and I became very close friends and collaborated to produce videos and fly tying photography. I continued following Poul's work for the documentary up until his sudden and unexpected death in the fall of 2004. Post production continues in my spare time; you can view some clips on my website.
