Mysterious Town Centralia Pennsylvania Still Burns (updated)

Its population has dwindled from over 1,000 residents in 1981 to 10 in 2012 as a result ofa mine fire burning beneath the borough since 1962. Roger Avery, director of the “Silent Hill” movie, has said part of his inspiration for the movie was from Centralia.
